A Hog Production arm raises livestock on owned and contract farms and sells feed and transport services, while a smaller unit extracts heparin, a blood-thinning ingredient, from hog by-products and makes pork in Mexico. It is based in Smithfield, Virginia, and is a subsidiary of a UK holding company.
